Advantages of Digital imaging compared to Laser wire gauges in the control of thin diamond wire manufacturing

  1. LASER WIRE GAUGE

    Laser wire gauges are available for diameter measurements based on a scanning principle for larger diameters and diffraction setup for smaller diameters.

    Typical parameters are beam diameters of ~0.1 mm and sampling rates of 2,000 readings per second. In the drawing process of wires and other products these gauges are indispensable due to their precision and robustness. The beam diameter corresponds with the ability to detect small protrusions on the wire surface.
